Anglais 2A - LEN_40102_TA : Fiction (Un)Fiction

Domaine > Langues vivantes.

Descriptif

Fiction (un)fiction is a creative writing workshop that attempts to take an in-depth look at the creative process by instrumentalizing peer analysis, mentoring and literary critique of Anglo-American authors alongside student-produced texts. Students contextualize various elements concealed at the core of a small selection of unequivocal literary works as well as student-produced counterparts. By distinguishing simple and complex forms of writing styles, not only reading but also conversational skills will be enhanced, however let me be clear in stating that creative writing is neither methodology, nor even composition, instead a space where ideas might be sparked and powers of observation and imagination expanded. The workshop is divided into three parts: reading, analyzing and writing.

Programme détaillé

How society is shaped through storytelling:

You will learn how to put into context a world built through literature and art. You will dive deeper into the implications that drive societal landscapes and come to a clearer understanding of not only how things are seen,

but hopefully how and why stories are made.

Oral practice:

As well as general discussions, you will be asked to read regularly a text and be prepared to discuss for the next session. The debates on what makes up a text and how it is related to both the present and the past will be key in how you frame your conversations.

  • Grade out of 20 (taking into account your efforts, your visual research assignments, your oral participation and your progress). This is equated to a letter A-F. If you work hard and have a positive attitude you can achieve a high grade even if your level of English is not as fluent as it will be in the future.
  • Late arrival policy: NO ENTRY AFTER 5-MINUTES. Late work policy: Only in-class assignments accepted.

Additional Reading: Each reading day, over other week, I will send you supplemental reading material related to the subject. This material could consist of videos, articles or podcasts to take the theme even further. This communication will also be important in reminding of you other topics that we might cover during the workshop.
